I’ve been toying with the idea lately of creating an "importance cloud". This would be a combination of tag and attention clouds, but be based on the IMPORTANCE of the content to the reader, not its popularity. This could be an effective way to bubble relevant information to the top of an organizational hierarchy.
I don’t think the schema or process is in place to generate this yet, however it’s not a huge departure from attentionxml. As long as the back end is a relational database, it should be pretty easy to generate a coherent schema that defines how important something is to the user based on who tagged it, who flagged it (dugg it, voted on it, whatever), what the user has flagged in the past, etc.
I’ll try to hash this out further in the next week or two and post a live example to see if this idea is actually viable.
