Idea #10: Use a wiki for brainstorming

Wikis are one of the best tools I’ve found for brainstorming.  The way they allow you to create new pages on the fly and link anywhere else in the wiki is just a great way to pour a stream of conciousness into text.  I find that when I’m using a wiki, I can link, edit, and create new ideas just as fast as they pop into my head.

One area in particular where I’ve wikis helpful is in the development process.  As I’m fleshing out a new idea I find that it helps to put the architecture into a wiki.  Starting from a rough "sketch" of the application and working my way down into the details.  Other people seem to have found the same thing works pretty well for them, too.
