I’ve posted about this before, but if you don’t have your own domain name, go get one now! If you’re hitching a free ride on blogger.com, typepad.com, or any other domain that you don’t own, you’re doing yourself a huge disservice in the long run. Eventually you’ll want to leave them, and all your traffic will end up going to your host instead of moving with you. Only $7.95 USD a year claims your piece of the Internet and makes sure that no one else will snag it first. If you can get your last name, even better (I wish my email address was [email protected], but somebody grabbed the domain pretty early in the game).
